OPEP 3 to OPEP 4 Upgrade

If you require OPEP 4 certification and currently have a valid OPEP 3 certification, then you can upgrade your certification on this course.

The BEIS Guidance Notes For Preparing Oil Pollution Emergency Plans states that a company must have access to persons competent to OPEP Level 4 (IMO Level 2 equivalent), to advise on the spill response strategy. This upgrade will give you the required to fulfill this UK training requirement.

You will develop on your OPEP Level 3 training course by understanding the response techniques used during an incident. By deploying equipment in both scenarios, you will conduct practical elements of both a shoreline and an offshore response.

During this course, you will cover the following areas:

• Conduct an offshore exercise
• Conduct a shoreline exercise
