Introduction to the Incident Management Handbook (IMH)

The Incident Management Handbook (IMH) has been produced to assist response personnel in the use of the Incident Command System (ICS) internationally; enabling users to apply ICS principles for any incident, regardless of size, location, or organisations involved.

The handbook provides an overview of position roles and responsibilities as well as a high level view of the entire incident management process; highlighting the necessary requirements and continuing outputs. Thus creating a comprehensive aide memoire in the form of this Handbook, with supplementary Job Aid’s, available separately, detailing further accountabilities for each role.

Master incident management for a confident and coordinated response

Effective incident management requires strong decision-making, coordination, and control under pressure. Our Incident Management Training equips teams with the skills to assess situations rapidly, implement structured response strategies, and maintain operational continuity. Focusing on command structures, resource allocation, and real-time problem-solving, we prepare responders to manage incidents with confidence. Through immersive simulations and scenario-based exercises, participants develop the expertise to lead, adapt, and execute effective response actions in high-pressure situations.
