This course reveals the essential skills and knowledge required to perform the role of a First Responder within a tactical response team, from understanding the behaviour of oil in the environment to help determine the best response strategy, through to the deployment of response equipment.
Throughout this course, you will learn and experience the following:
- Discover the fates and effects of oil and how it behaves in the environment
- Explore the social, economic and environmental impacts that determine response priorities and strategies to minimise impact
- Understand response tools and equipment, including limitations for use and maintenance procedures
- Practice deploying response equipment utilised during a first response
- Learn at which points the response operations can be terminated and the process of waste management.
