Our guest is Dr. Michael Ziccardi, a wildlife veterinarian with over 30 years of experience in oil wildlife preparedness and response. Dr. Ziccardi has been at the forefront of numerous wildlife rescue operations in the US and around the world. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the One Health Institute at the University of California, Davis and Director Emeritus of the Oiled Wildlife Care Network.

We explore the complexities of wildlife response in oil spills, and how the technical understanding, the response strategies and systems have been developed over the years. Dr. Ziccardi shares his insights on the challenges and advancements in this field, the importance of preparedness, and the collaborative efforts required to protect wildlife.
