AMOSC joins OSRL following completion of acquisition

OSRL has completed its acquisition of the Australian Marine Oil Spill Centre (AMOSC), bringing together AMOSC’s established local expertise with OSRL’s Australian and global operations to strengthen industry-funded preparedness and response in Australia.

This completion marks the next phase in the long-standing relationship between the two organisations and demonstrates their shared commitment to maintaining industry-funded preparedness and response capability in Australia.

For Australian stakeholders, the priority is continuity: maintaining established response arrangements, local expertise, and the operational readiness developed by both organisations over many years.

Vania De Stefani, Chief Executive Officer of OSRL, said:

"AMOSC has played an important role in Australia’s oil spill preparedness and response arrangements for many years, and we recognise the value of that local expertise.

As AMOSC becomes part of the OSRL group, our priority is to maintain continuity for Australian stakeholders while bringing together the strengths, expertise and experience of both organisations to support operational readiness in Australia.

This agreement represents an important milestone for OSRL and further strengthens the industry-funded model that supports effective preparedness and response across Australia.”

The immediate focus will be on a smooth transition that maintains established response arrangements in Australia, protects response readiness, and supports the development of a stronger, more resilient preparedness and response capability for Australia over the long term.
