Face to Face

OPRC Level 3 is suited to decision-makers and commanders in the event of an oil spill response

The course uses interactive discussion and scenario-based learning to examine incident management strategies, response challenges and decision-making under pressure.

UK-based deliveries include a hands-on practical deployment exercise, allowing delegates to observe first-hand the challenges of deploying response equipment. In other regions, practical learning is delivered through facilitated scenario-based discussion and table-top activities aligned to local response arrangements.

On successful completion of the course assessments, all delegates receive the Nautical Institute–accredited OPRC Level 3 (OPRC/IMO Equivalent) certificate.

Participants attending this course in the United Kingdom may also obtain the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) Level 5/5P certificate by completing an additional UK-specific, test-based module through OSRL’s Learning Management System.

Participants attending this course in Singapore benefit from accreditation by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA Singapore).

This IMO Level 3 equivalent training provides a structured view of an oil spill incident, from the causes and fate of oil spills through to incident termination, giving delegates insight into the complexities they may face and the tools available to manage them effectively.
