This course has been designed and run exclusively for those who work within ExxonMobil’s Operating Units and for members of the Regional Response Teams.

Examine the fate and behaviour of spilled oil and the environmental considerations that must be considered. Once this has been established, the strategy and tactics for the clean-up effort can be determined.
During this course, you will learn and experience the following:
- Discover the fundamentals of oil spill response
- Learn about the fates and effects of oil spills
- Consider response strategies and planning for tactical elements of the response
- Reviewing of the Incident Command System (ICS), including the reactive and proactive response phases
- Highlighting ExxonMobil’s Public and Government Affairs and Risk Management policies

- Incident Command System (ICS) review, Incident Action Plan (IAP) software and ICS reactive and proactive response phases
- Common operating picture (COP) and GPS training
- Fates and behaviours of oil spill
- Resources at risk and risk management
- Public and government affairs
- Risk management
- Response strategies and tactical response planning
- OSRL Base tour and a practical exercise deployment.

A great and well-coordinated course with the right mix of theory and hands-on training. The facilitators were knowledgeable, approachable, and always available to answer questions. Practical elements like the boom deployment brought the learning to life and gave a real sense of incident response. The course was engaging, well-paced, and set a high standard for training delivery
The training was really useful, and I especially enjoyed the wildlife section. The course struck a good balance between humour and content, the sessions were engaging and thorough. Although there was a lot of information to absorb, it was presented in a very informative way. The level of detail provided was great without being overwhelming.
I found the course well-structured and explained. To be honest I’ve come away from long info packed days still energised. That doesn’t happen too often on training courses so I’d say it was a well balanced and delivered course. I enjoyed the modules, practical exercises, and insightful content. Great facilitators and interactive sessions.
