Jim O’Leary joined BP in 1992 and has worked in the UK, Alaska, Gulf of Mexico, North America Gas and North Africa in a number of drilling and completion roles, both in the office and the field. Jim led the implementation of the improvement recommendations associated with the Deepwater Horizon incident across BP’s global operations. Jim became Vice President (VP) of Wells Egypt in 2012, and in 2015, was appointed as Vice President of Wells Africa, accountable for BP’s well activities across the continent. In 2018, Jim was appointed as Vice President of Africa & Middle East, accountable for BP’s well activities and in November 2020, was appointed as Vice President of Wells AGT.
Jim's current role is VP of Wells North Sea, Mauritania, Senegal & Brazil.
Jim has a Master of Engineering, Petroleum Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
