OSRL launches new shallow-water deployment capability at SpillAsia 2026
OSRL has launched a new shallow-water deployment capability, strengthening global source-control preparedness for complex well-control scenarios. The innovation is being showcased at SpillAsia 2026, where delegates will be able to learn more about the integrated system through poster displays and speaker sessions during the event.
The capability integrates two key systems: OSRL’s Split Lowering System (SLS) developed with InterMoor, and the new Snub Line Winch System, developed by Oceaneering. Together, these technologies enable capping stack deployment when surface conditions make conventional vertical access unsafe or impracticable. The SLS allows the stack to be deployed, positioned and lowered from an offset location outside the hazardous surface plume, while the Snub Line Winch System provides controlled final alignment and landing on the BOP or wellhead.
